Parma – Roma
Parma hosts Roma at the Stadio Ennio Tardini in a game from the 12th round of the Serie A.
For Parma this is an entirely “okay” season so far. The Crusaders are currently 10th in the league standings with 14 points and being in the middle of the table is something which could make them feel more calm about their future. So far in the league Parma have a record of four wins, two draws and five losses.
In their last three matches in the league Parma are without a win. In the previous round Roberto D’Aversa’s boys won a point at a difficult ground, though. The Crusaders visited Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi and secured a point with a 1-1 draw. It was the veteran striker Gervinho who scored Parma’s only goal in the game. It was a good game for the visitors, because playing in Florence is never easy.
Roma on the other hand are doing good. The Wolves are third in the Serie A, only behind the two strongest teams in the league – Juventus and Inter Milan. In 11 games played so far, Roma have a record of 6 wins, 4 draws and 1 loss.
Right now Paulo Fonseca’s team is in a very good shape, enjoying a run of three consecutive wins. Last week Roma hosted Napoli at the Olimpico and celebrated a 2-1 win. The young diamond Nicolo Zaniolo scored his third goal in the league this season, while Jordan Veretout also put the ball in the net from a penalty kick. In the last seconds of the match the Turkish centre back Mert Cetin got sent off, so he won’t be avaliable against Parma on Sunday.
Although Roma are favourites to win at the Ennio Tardini, Parma are not an easy opponent this season. The Crusaders have enough experience and quality to trouble any team, especially at home. It should be interesting.
