Manchester United – Arsenal
Manchester United hosts Arsenal in the big derby of the 36th round of the English Premier League. Let’s have a look at this clash at the Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester.
Manchester United are 2nd in the Premier League with 74 points won so far. They have 3 points advantage in front of the 3rd Liverpool and also a game in hand. As it looks right now, United’s goal until the end of the season is going to be keeping the 2nd place in the standings. And winning the FA Cup, of course.
Right now Jose Mourinho’s team have a record of 23 wins, 5 draws and 6 defeats. United won four of their last five games, including against the new champion Manchester City. But they also suffered a shocking home defeat against the outsider West Bromwich Albion.
In their last game the Red Devils enjoyed a 2-0 win during the visit to Bournemouth.
Arsenal on the other hand are 6th in the Premier League with 57 points. It’s clear that the Gunners are going to miss out on a Champions League qualification, except if they don’t win the Europa League. Right now Arsenal are 11 points behind the 4th Tottenham, so it’s game over for them,
This is going to be the last United – Arsenal derby for the Gunners’ manager Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman is leaving the club after the end of the season. He’s one of the big legends of Arsenal and he would want to leave the club in the best way possible. Including against Manchester United – his big historical rival through the years.
No doubt – this is going to be a special day at the Old Trafford. Could it be the last clash between Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger – two managers who really don’t like each other? This is one more reason to watch the derby between Manchester United and Arsenal.
