Lillestrøm – Odd
Lillestrøm faces Odd in a match from the 13th round of the Norwegian Eliteserien. Let’s have a look at this clash and see what’s going on.
Lillestrøm didn’t start the new season in the best way possible. They are currently 13th in the league standings with 11 points, being just one point above the 14th Stabaek and the relegation playoff zone. Right now Lillestrøm have a record of 3 wins, 2 draws and 7 defeats, which certainly doesn’t speak well of their current form.
Lillestrøm enjoyed two consecutive wins against Sandefjord and Tromso, but in the next three games they won just one point in the matches with Rosenborg (L), Brann (D) and Valerenga (L).
In the previous round Lillestrøm travelled to Oslo to face Valerenga, but suffered a 0-1 defeat after a goal in the last few seconds of the game. This was truly dissapointing for the away team, because they were on course to win at least a point in the game. Bard Finne scored the winning goal for Valerenga in 96’, winning the three points for the host.
Last season Lillestrøm didn’t perform in the most impressive way, too, finishing 12th in the final standings.
Odd on the other hand are currently 10th in the Eliteserien with 16 points won. They have a record of 5 wins, 1 draw and 6 defeats. In their last five matches Odd are really inconsistent – they won twice (against Start and Sandefjord), but also suffered defeats against Ranheim, Stabaek and Kristiansund.
In the previous round Odd brought dissapointment to its fans, losing at home against Kristiansund with 1-2. Bilal Njie scored a goal for Odd in the final minutes of the game, but Bendik Bye and Daouda Bamba’s goals for Kristiansund were enough for their team to clinch the win.
