Lille – Milan
Lille faces Milan at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in a match from Group H of Europa League. We expect some fireworks in this game, so let’s preview it. Are you ready?
These two teams are the ones who lead the group standings at this moment. Lille are leaders with 7 points won, but Milan are second with just one point less – 6. For the Rossoneri this is a chance to eventually top the group. They will do it if they win on Thursday.
It’s understandable why Lille and Milan are the two favourites for reaching the knockout phase of Europa League. Sparta Praha are third with 3 points while Celtic are 4th with just one point won so far.
Two weeks ago Lille surprisingly beat Milan at the San Siro on Italian soil. Milan’s manager Stefano Pioli put some of his best players on the pitch, but the French team dominated and enjoyed a solid 3-0 win to top the group. The biggest hero of the game was the Turkish midfielder Yusuf Yazici who scored a hattrick at the San Siro. He’s going to remember this day forever, we are sure about this.
For Milan this is a chance to avenge this defeat and get back on top in the group. They must do it without their best player, though. The Swedish veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic got injured in the club’s last Serie A game, so he’s going to rest now. The good thing is that Stefano Pioli has enough options to replace him.
That’s our preview for the Europa League game between Lille and Milan on Thursday. Just two weeks ago the French team showed some masterclass against the Rossoneri. The question is – can they do it again now? This is a direct clash for the first place in Group H, so we expect to see two very motivated teams on the pitch.
