Juventus – Inter
Derby d’Italia – Juventus against Inter. It’s time once again to enjoy one of the most iconic matches in Italian football between two clubs who don’t love each other very much. A true football rivalry.
It won’t be much of a surprise to note that Juventus are once again leading the table in the Serie A. Max Allegri’s team is four points ahead of Roma after 22 rounds played, but Juve also have a game in hand. Teams like Roma and Napoli still have a theoretical chance to beat The Old Lady for the title, but there are very few people who actually believe that it could happen.
Inter on the other hand are enjoying a terrific run of results under the management of Stefano Pioli. The 51-years old tactician was appointed as manager in November and he quickly turned the Nerrazzuri into a real contender for a Champions League football next season. Inter are currently in a run of a seven consecutive wins in the Serie A, which allowed them to occupy the 4th spot in the table and move just three points behind Napoli. The Champions League dream is once again alive for the San Siro giants.
But are Inter good enough to take something from Juventus in Turin? After winning seven games in a row, most certainly they will travel to Juventus Stadium with high confidence and morale. But on the other side of the pitch we have arguably the best team in Italy at the moment.
Max Allegri can use all of his first team players for the Derby d’Italia, so we should expect to see the best possible Juve squad on the pitch. Last week The Old Lady didn’t face any problems against Sassuolo away from home, winning comfortably thanks to the goals of Gonzalo Higuain and Sami Khedira.
There aren’t any major injuries or suspensions in Inter’s squad as well. In their last game the Nerrazzuri scored three times against Pescara, winning with 3-0 at the Stadio San Siro in Milan.
