Chelsea – Arsenal

Chelsea hosts Arsenal in the big derby of the fifth round in the English Premier League. The game is going to be played at the Stamford Bridge in London.

Chelsea started the new campaign with a surprising loss at home against Burnley, but afterwards Antonio Conte’s squad managed to win three consecutive matches. Now Chelsea are third in the standings and a win over Arsenal will move them again to just one point behind the leader Manchester City.

During the week The Blues once again showed some good form, beating Quarabah with 6-0 in the Champions League. Yes – it was not a really strong opposition, but scoring six goals in the Champions League is always an impressive achievement.

As for Arsenal, they already lost two of their four games in the league so far, which is for now leaving them on 12th place. They won their last game against Bornemouth at home, but they really need to do much more, if they want to convince their fans that they could compete with the best this season. Many of the fans are still wanting Arsene Wenger to resign and this is not good for the team’s spirit.

During the week Arsenal won against Koln in the Europa League, despite of losing at the halftime against the German team.

Antonio Conte can use a full squad against Arsenal, with the only exception being the new signing Danny Drinkwater. He’s still not ready to play, healing from a calf injury.

Arsene Wenger on the other hand can’t use Santiago Cazorla and Francis Coquelin, who are still injured. Theo Walcott is still doubtful with a calf injury, so it’s not clear if he’s going to participate in the match or not.

This is a very interesting game. Chelsea are favourites because of form and home ground advantage, but let’s see what’s going to happen.
