Borussia Dortmund – Union Berlin

Borussia Dortmund host the newcomers Union Berlin at the Signal Iduna Park in a match from the 20th round of the Bundesliga. This fixture is going to be played on Saturday.

Borussia Dortmund have suffered just three losses this season and one of them was exactly against Union Berlin. For the manager Lucien Favre and his boys this is a good opportunity for a payback. But it’s not just the payback – Dortmund need the points, because they are fighting for the title as well. Die Borussen are currently just 4 points behind the leader RB Leipzig, so the motivation for a win is huge here.

It’d be curious to see what the manager Lucien Favre is going to do with the Norwegian wonderkid Erling Haland. The 19-years old striker started the previous two games from the bench, but he scored five goals in them. This is a pretty good reason for Favre to put him in the starting eleven on Saturday. In the same time he can’t use the French defender Dan-Axel Zagadou, who is injured.

Union Berlin can be satisfied with their performance so far in their debut season in the Bundesliga. The small club from the capital is currently 11th in the league with 23 points, having some good advantage in front of the teams in the relegation zone. Some people thought that Union will be at the bottom of the league in January, but it’s not the case for them.

In the previous round Union achieved their 7th win for the season. Urs Fischer’s team hosted Augsburg and celebrated a 2-0 win. Both goals were scored in the second half when Neven Subotic and Marcus Ingvartsen put the ball behind Tomas Koubek’s back.

That’s our preview for the Bundesliga clash between Borussia Dortmund and Union Berlin on Saturday. We expect to see the hosts dominating this game, they are in a good shape at the moment.
