Arsenal – Manchester City
The fight for a Champions League quaification in the English Premier League continues. This weekend Arsenal are hosting Manchester City with the idea that they have to win at any cost, if they want to keep their chances of finishing in the Top 4 alive.
Arsenal are currently 6th in the EPL standings, falling with 7 points behind the 4th Manchester City. They still have a game in hand though, so a possible win against The Citizens will keep their chances to finish in the Top 4.
A lot of fans already want the manager Arsene Wenger to leave the club after the end of the season. If he’s unable to qualify Arsenal for the Champions League, then the legendary Frenchman could indeed put an end to his reign at the Emirates.
As for Manchester City, Pep Guardiola’s team have a 4-points advantage in front of city rivals Manchester United, but the Red Devils also have a game in hand. This means that City should make as few mistakes as possible until the end of the season, if they want to play Champions League football next season.
Arsene Wenger has some problems in his team before the clash. Santi Cazora and David Ospina are injured, while Shkodran Mustafi, Lucas Perez and Mathieu Debuchy are doubtful for the clash. The good news come from the recovery of Danny Welbeck, who is ready to return for The Gunners.
Man City’s manager Josep Guardiola can’t use Ilkay Gundogan until the end of the season, while Gabriel Jesus is close to coming back. Central defender John Stones is still under a question for The Citizens, while Bacary Sagna is once again fit and ready to play.
Arsenal and Manchester City are ready to offer us a piece of great football at the Emirates Stadium. This is an important clash for both teams, so we do expect some excitement in North London.
